MAYANK TRIPATHI

Award-Winning Director | DOP | Producer

I began my journey as a Director of Photography, where I developed a fine eye for detail, composition, light and visual storytelling. Over time, I realised that I wanted to go beyond creating beautiful frames—I wanted to tell the complete story. That instinct naturally led me from cinematography to direction.

My directorial debut, the short film Billu’s Flight, marked an important milestone in my journey. The film was nominated and selected at more than 10 film festivals across India and internationally, receiving several honours, including the Best Short Film Award at DCSAFF in Washington, D.C., USA, along with multiple awards in India.

One of the most extraordinary experiences of my career was being part of the highest-altitude fashion show on Earth, an achievement recognised by Guinness World Records. I also created the documentary Mount Everest Fashion Runway, capturing this remarkable journey and the challenges of bringing an ambitious creative vision to life at extreme altitude.

Over the years, I have directed and produced multiple shows, films and productions across India and international markets, working across different formats, cultures and creative environments.
Even today, the DOP in me remains at the heart of the director I have become. My eye for detail, understanding of the camera and obsession with every frame continue to define my filmmaking.
For me, filmmaking is not simply about what the camera sees—it is about what the audience feels.
